About Organization
PAWACAP ORGANIZATION was established in 2020 as a campaign to support indigenous communities, pastoralists, and animals facing the severe challenges of climate change affecting the world. The campaign was initiated by Brother Zakayo Mwamlima under the banner of his water extraction company, Quality Water and Sanitation, and is based in Arusha, Tanzania.
In 2023, PAWACAP ORGANIZATION was officially registered as a non-profit organization, continuing its mission to combat climate change. The organization primarily focuses on supporting women and children, who are among the most vulnerable groups. These individuals face dangers such as attacks by wild animals, the risk of sexual assault, and physical harm caused by carrying heavy buckets of water over long distances—sometimes more than ten kilometers on foot. Many children are deprived of educational opportunities because they spend much of their time searching for water.
To address these challenges, PAWACAP provides environmental education and offers alternative sources of clean and safe water through borehole drilling. This initiative helps prevent people from accessing degraded river water sources, which often suffer from human-induced damage to both water bodies and surrounding vegetation.
To this day, the organization continues its work with full registration under Tanzanian authorities. It collaborates with local and international stakeholders to support community transformation. We especially wish to acknowledge The Ladybug USA Project and its founders, Sasan Brandy and Philip from the United States. Their generous support has greatly contributed to the success of various projects, including:
- The Hadzabe Karatu Water Project
- The Emailete Well Project, which they fully funded (100%)
- The renovation of water tanks at Arkatani Monduli Primary School
- The distribution of tents to the Hadzabe community to help protect them from rain
We are deeply grateful for these partnerships that have allowed us to make a meaningful impact in a short period of time.
